Update at 8:35 p.m., Friday, May 20 – An update on Friday night was announced around 1:30 p.m. this afternoon, RCMP Search and Rescue found the deceased Leo Sir. Death does not seem suspicious.
RCMP Steinbach and St. Pierre Jolys continues to investigate.

A search is currently underway between St. Adolphe and Ste. Agatha in the area of highway 75 for 72-year-old Leo Sir from Giroud.
The RCMP received the missing persons report around 8 a.m. Friday after Sir was last seen driving his car on Highway 59 near Dunning Road East on Thursday night at about 8 p.m.
The family visited his residence last night to check on him, but he is not at home and his car has disappeared.
At approximately 7:25 a.m. Friday, St. Pierre Jolys RCMP received a message about a vehicle stuck in a field full of water, near Highway 75, between St. Adolphe and Ste. Agatha. Officers arrived, found the abandoned vehicle and found it to be Sir.
Leo Sir is described as 5’11 “, 250 pounds with brown eyes and balding brown / gray hair. He was last seen wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt and blue jeans.
Each around the area of Highway 75 between St. Adolphe and Ste. Agatha is asked to look for Sir. If you see it, please call the Steinbach RCMP at 204-326-1234 immediately.
