The New York Times’ daily Wordle puzzle game has become extremely popular in recent months. Although the five-letter word guessing game is easy to play, not everyone has tried it, so let’s get to the basics.
How to play Wordle
By visiting the New York Times gaming site, players can begin to guess the five-letter daily word. People can play the game on their phones, laptops, tablets or any other device that can connect to the Internet.
Players will have six attempts to figure out what the word is once they reach the venue. Enter a word from Wordle with a mixture of vowels and consonants, and the color of the tiles will show how close the players are to the decision.
- If the tile turns green, the letter is in the word and in the right place.
- If the color shifts to yellow, the letter is still in the word, but not in the right place.
- If the selected letter is gray, it is not in the word at all.
- Players can post their results on social media after finishing the game to show their friends how well they performed. And don’t worry about spoiling your friends on social media by posting the results.

If you have trouble finding the right answer, a good strategy is to guess as many letters as possible. It is important to use each new guess to eliminate as many potential letters as possible, unless you are playing a hard mode that forces players to use confirmed guesses in all subsequent attempts.
