A man died after an attack on a dog in Wrexham

A man died after being bitten by a dog and received a cardiac arrest. North Wales police have confirmed that a 62-year-old man has been pronounced dead at the scene following an incident in Wrexham on Monday.

Paramedics and police arrived on the scene, but the man was not rescued. The dog was destroyed on the spot. Police said they had responded to a request to attend Holt Road in Wrexham to help the ambulance crew at the scene at 11:44 a.m. Monday, May 23, NorthWalesLive reported.

A police spokesman said: “A Welsh ambulance said a 62-year-old man was under cardiac arrest after being bitten by a dog on the property. Unfortunately, despite all the efforts of paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s close relatives have been informed and our investigations into the incident are ongoing. “

A police spokesman added: “Family members have asked for their privacy to be respected at the moment. The dog was probably detained on the property and was euthanized by a veterinarian at the scene. Other dogs kept on the property have been removed by trained dog handlers and will be temporarily placed in a kennel while investigations continue. “

A spokesman for the Welsh ambulance service said they had been called at 11.33am for “emergency reports”. They added: “We sent three ambulances, two emergency vehicles and the Wales Air Ambulance ambulance to the scene.

Eyewitnesses to the scene said they saw at least 10 police cars with dogs. The air ambulance was spotted landing at 12 noon before taking off again an hour and a quarter later. Holt Road remained closed until about 6 p.m., while it was reported that some people in neighboring properties were told to leave their homes during the incident.
