President Biden officially spent more than 100 days without conducting media interviews, during which many new crises and debates swept the country and the world.

Biden’s last media interview was before the Super Bowl on February 10 with NBC’s Leicester Holt, which remains his only one-on-one interview with a mass journalist in 2022 so far. To get an idea of how much news has swept the country since then, it was two weeks before Russia invaded Ukraine.

Holt and Biden covered democratic governors and their state policies on the coronavirus, the “tense opposition” between Russia and Ukraine at the time, the chaotic withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, and inflation, among other topics.

The only two other interviews Biden has since interviewed are friendly meetings in late February with historian Heather Cox Richardson and progressive YouTube presenter Brian Tyler Cohen.

CRITICISTS REDEAD THAT BIDEN HAS ONLY ONE SITTING INTERVIEW IN RECENT MONTHS

“If you don’t interview for 102 days, it shows that his leaders are petrified, he will say things like he just said about defending Taiwan, for example, because it requires cleaning track five,” Fox News spokesman Joe Concha said. to Fox & Friends First on Monday, citing Biden’s remarks that the United States would defend Taiwan militarily if attacked by China.

Koncha noted that 2022 is an election year and Democrats are facing a potentially difficult November, according to the latest opinion polls.

“You would think that the commander-in-chief would be sitting somewhere, everywhere, maybe somewhere friendly, which could at least give him a platform,” he said. “You just have the feeling that the president’s leaders now think that he will probably do more harm than good if he does an interview, and that’s pretty scary, considering that again, this is the leader of this country. He has to face issues and responsibilities, and they just don’t want to put him there for whatever reason. “

Biden had previously reached historically low levels in terms of the number of media interviews he gave during his first year in office, which lasted only his second year. He conducted only 23 press interviews from January 20, 2021 to April 29, 2022, compared to Donald Trump’s 95th and Barack Obama’s 187th at the same time of their presidency, according to the Transition Project at the White House of Towson University.

Former White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki has repeatedly rejected criticism that Biden does not do enough interviews, citing impromptu questions he often asks reporters every day. But these spontaneous moments with the press rarely allow the president to ask further questions, as a traditional sit-down interview would.

After his last media interview, Biden was affected by the great challenges of the Russia-Ukraine war, prolonged record inflation, looming fears of a recession, rising gas prices, an immigration crisis at the southern border and a devastating shortage of baby formula.

So far, Biden has done only one media interview in 2022.

The expiration of a draft majority opinion earlier this month that would overturn Rowe v. Wade was another big story that had to be revealed during Biden’s media interview. An internal note from the Ministry of Homeland Security is already warning of potential violence that could erupt if the remarkable abortion decision is indeed overturned.

In addition, the coverage of his son Hunter Biden, who is under federal investigation into his tax affairs, is gaining popularity among the legacy media, which shed light on his overseas business deals.

Biden still makes headlines in his speeches to reporters, especially with his speeches. In March, the president sparked an international firestorm during a speech in Warsaw, Poland, when he announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin “cannot stay in power,” something the White House immediately responded to.

POLITICO CALLS FOR BIDEN NOT TO INTERVIEW: “REFLECT THE MENTALITY OF THE BUNKER WHO TOOK THIS WHITE HOUSE”

Earlier this month, the president went viral after remembering the “old days” of breaking bread with “true segregationists” as he made remarks condemning the lack of bipartisanship on Capitol Hill.
