Dimensity 1050 mmWave SoC highlights three new chipsets expanding MediaTek’s 5G and gaming portfolio
HSINCHU, Taiwan – May 23, 2022 – MediaTek today announced the Dimensity 1050 chip system [SoC], its first mmWave 5G chipset, which will power the next generation of 5G smartphones with seamless connectivity, displays, games and energy efficiency. With dual connectivity using mmWave and below 6GHz, the Dimensity 1050 will provide the speed and capacity needed to provide smartphone users with an incredible experience, even in some of the most densely populated areas.
Dimensity 1050 combines mmWave 5G and sub-6GHz for smooth migration between network strips and is built on the ultra-efficient TSMC 6nm manufacturing process with an octa-core processor. Supporting 3CC media aggregation in the sub-6 (FR1) spectrum and 4CC media aggregation in the mmWave spectrum (FR2), the Dimensity 1050 will be able to deliver up to 53 percent faster speeds and greater range to smartphones than LTE alone + mmWave aggregation. The SoC integrates two premium Arm Cortex-A78 processors up to 2.5 GHz and the latest Arm Mali-G610 graphics engine.

- Dimensity 930 allows 5G smartphones to download data faster and stay connected regardless of location with 2CC-CA, including mixed duplex FDD + TDD for higher speeds and longer range. Designed to capture vivid detail, it is equipped with MiraVision HDR video playback and a display for 120Hz Full HD + displays and HDR10 + video. In addition, enhancements to HyperEngine 3.0 Lite games provide intelligent multi-network management to ensure lower latency for a smooth user experience and maximum battery life.
- The Helio G99 delivers amazing 4G / LTE mobile gaming experiences for higher bandwidth speeds and more than 30 percent power savings for gaming compared to the Helio G96. This SoC will be available to customers in the second quarter of 2022.
