Broadmead knife stabbing: Two men stabbed after Bristol Wilco attack

Two men were stabbed after an attack on the Wilko store in Broadmead, police said.

Officers were called to the scene on Union Street on Tuesday afternoon (May 24) at around 2:50 p.m. Two eyewitnesses said they saw a police tape around the area and at least three police cars were present. Both Wilko and Cotswold Outdoors are temporarily closed due to the incident.

Avon and Somerset police confirmed that no victim was identified at the scene, but two men later arrived at the hospital after receiving stab wounds. Officers searched the Bristol shopping district, but no offender or group of offenders has yet been identified by officials in connection with the incident.

A spokesman for the force said in a statement: “Police were called to a Union Street store in Broadmead at around 2.50pm this afternoon (May 24th) following reports of a serious attack. Officers are investigating the scene and searching the area to try to identify the perpetrator or the perpetrators involved.

“None of the victims were at the scene when police arrived, but two men have been hospitalized since then with stab wounds. For now, it is believed that their injuries are not life-threatening.

Police have asked anyone who has more information or who may have witnessed the attack to come out. People can call 101 and quote diary number 511 from May 24.

As Bristol Live asked Wilco for comment, a company spokesman said: “We can confirm that there was an accident at our Union Street store in Bristol earlier today. We work with the police to help them investigate and offer support to team members and customers who were in the store at the time. ”

Since then, Bristol Live has asked Wiklo when the store will reopen after the incident.
