Instagram presents a new live logo, Typoface and others as part of Visual Refresh

In an attempt to visually refresh its app, Instagram has confirmed that it is introducing a brighter icon along with its own printing house. Meta-owned photo-sharing company said its new design system puts content at the center, with a focus on simplicity and self-expression.

In a statement, Instagram said: “We bring new energy and purpose to our colors, font, logo and other elements of the brand with a refreshed visual identity. Our new system is designed to cover continuous development to help us create more immersive and inclusive experiences for our community. “

The social networking platform mentioned that its new font, called Instagram Sans, was designed with heritage in mind and includes a number of global scripts. The company said: “Our living gradient has been redesigned through an innovative 3D modeling process to feel bright and alive. The Instagram gradient, made up of our brand’s colors, is the foundation of our overall color system.”

“Through the lighting, the gradient signals moments of discovery in our marketing, logo and even in the application, as seen in the Create, Stickers and Rings Instagram Story mode. We are excited to bring the Instagram experience to life through the energy of our rethought gradient, ”added the photo-sharing platform.

Instagram Sans is a new way for the company’s global community to express itself in the platform with features like Stories and Reels. The company said: “While designing this new font, our goal was to make Instagram Sans globally available.” For the new feature, Instagram has teamed up with language experts around the world to adapt the font to be more inclusive of other languages such as Arabic, Thai and Japanese.

Obviously, the font is influenced by the obsession of the application to squares and circles. Instagram Sans combines both grotesque and geometric styles with the ability to “express a range of styles in any language”. Instagram said: “We want to support all of our creators and community members who are pushing culture forward to express themselves fully in any language they choose.”

The new Instagram logo has a living gradient to make it feel “bright and alive”. The brighter gradient will be visible in the application stickers, the creation mode and the history rings.
