Vladimir Putin survived a “failed” assassination attempt, Ukraine claims

At the beginning of the invasion, an assassination attempt was made against Vladimir Putin, claims the main spy of Ukraine.

The head of the defense intelligence of the war-torn nation, Kirill Budanov, claims that the Russian leader survived the “failed attempt” on his life about two months ago, the Mirror writes.

Speaking to Ukrainian Pravda, he said: “Putin was killed.”

“He was even attacked in the ranks of, as they say, representatives of the Caucasus not so long ago.

“This is non-public information. An absolutely unsuccessful attempt, but it really happened … It was about 2 months ago.”

“Once again he was unsuccessful. There is no publicity for this event, but it happened.”

Pravda announced that the entire interview with Mr. Budanov will be broadcast tomorrow.

In the event of Putin’s assassination, a “little-known tax official” named Mikhail Mishustin will take control of the Russian state, according to Business Insider.

The protocol was outlined in legislation passed by Putin last year to “reset the presidential clock”, allowing the despot to remain in power at least until 2034.

Mishustin has actually been Russia’s prime minister since January 2020.

The 56-year-old will officially take control of the Russian government in Putin, die or be incapacitated for 90 days or until elections are held to replace him.

Mr Mishustin is seen in political circles as fragile and powerless, with little ambition.

However, other sources claim that power could be transferred to Nikolai Patrushev, a former KGB friend of Putin and current secretary of Russia’s Security Council since 2008.

The former ghost “is no better than Vladimir Putin,” according to another former Kremlin spy.

He added: “If he comes to power, the problems of the Russians will only multiply.”

Described as Putin’s right-hand man, Mr Patrushev is “the most influential man in the Kremlin’s bureaucracy” and “the only man Putin trusts,” according to Rebecca Coffler, a former DIA intelligence officer.

Writing for the New York Post, Ms. Coffler said: “Both have probably solved the poisonings and killings of many Russian ‘enemies.’

She explained that some believed the two had ordered FSB officers to bomb apartment buildings in Moscow, killing up to 300 civilians in 1999.

In October last year, Putin was directly asked about his successor in an interview with CNBC.

Putin replied: “I prefer not to answer such questions.”

The Russian leader can stay in power until 2036, if his health allows.

The incident, told today by Major General Budanov, is not the first attempt against the despot’s life, as he reportedly survived five previous potential assassins.

In a 2012 interview with director Oliver Stone about interviews with Putin, the tyrant explained how he thwarted conspiracies by taking the advice of Cuban revolutionary and President Fidel Castro.

He claims that he managed to deceive death by personally managing his own security.

It is believed that an attempt was made to bury Anatoly Sobchak in St. Petersburg on February 24, 2000, although he was rescued by his bodyguards.

According to Rance, the press secretary of the Federal Security Service, Sergei Devistov, said that “not a psychopath, but a certain organization is behind the experience.”

CNN reports that a second one happened that year. The frustrated experience took place at the meeting of the former Soviet nations, the summit in Yalta of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The summit was attended by leaders from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Ukraine.

The news was first reported by Interfax, a Russian news agency. The head of Ukraine’s security service, Leonid Derkach, said his forces had prevented an assassination attempt on one of the leaders.

Russia Today later reported that four Chechens and “several people from the Middle East” had been arrested.

In another attempt, a man entered the perimeter of the Kremlin walls and told the guards: “My name is Ivan Zaitsev. I am the President of Russia. Now take me to Vladimir Putin! ”

Putin’s bodyguards arrested the man immediately.

Earlier this month, Budanov, who holds the rank of major general, joined Putin’s health debate, saying he was in “very bad shape” with cancer and other diseases that fascinated his body.

He said then: “Mr Putin is in a very bad psychological and physical condition and is very ill.”

In early May, the intelligence chief warned that the war would not end until Putin died.

Major General Budanov said the Russian leader had effectively signed his death sentence by ordering his troops to enter Ukraine.

Boldly predicting a Ukrainian victory, while warning that mass mobilization in Russia was imminent, Major General Budanov made the veiled threat Monday night.

“Leaving him a way back is one strategy, but it is almost unrealistic,” he told The New Voice of Ukraine when asked if Putin would survive the war.

“He is a war criminal for the whole world. This is his end, he is stuck in a dead end. Don’t worry, Ukraine will win. “

The head of the Central Intelligence Agency would not be drawn to how the despot would be overthrown or killed, but he predicted that Russia’s future could develop in one of two ways.

He said Russia could be divided into several parts after the failure of the invasion, or it could be kept intact but under new leadership.

Major-General Budanov further suggested that Russia was less than a week away from the mass mobilization that would force its non-military citizens to take part in the war.

“Russia is already introducing secret mobilization and is preparing to announce mass mobilization in the near future,” he told NV.
