Apple celebrates Pride with rainbow watch straps, dial

(Pocket-lint) – Apple has announced new Pride tapes and a dial for the Apple Watch to celebrate Pride Month this June.

The tapes are called Pride Edition Sport Loop and Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop. Pride Edition Sport Loop includes the word “pride”, woven into the company’s classic sports style. The band has rainbows of various Pride flags, including colors such as light blue, pink, white, black and brown.

(Light blue, pink, and white symbolize transgender and non-binary individuals, while brown and black represent the communities of blacks and Latinos.)

As for the Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop, Apple said it is designed to celebrate the “full spectrum of the rainbow” and has a suitable face of Nike Bounce.

The new Pride Edition tapes are available for purchase for $ 49 / £ 49 on Apple.com and in the Apple Store app in the US and UK.

They will be available in Apple Store stores from May 26, 2022. Pride Edition Nike Sport Loop will also be available from Nike.com soon.

Finally, the new Pride watch dial is also available. This is exclusively for Apple Watch Series 4 or later (works with watchOS 8.6 or later).

It is also inspired by various Pride flags. Apple said the new clock face “combines colors to represent the strength and mutual support of the LGBTQ + movement.” The dial of the watch has colored threads that move when you turn the digital crown of the Apple Watch, touch the display or lift your wrist.
