Seventy-five people are missing after a crowded boat with migrants sank near Tunisia, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
IOM said 24 people were rescued from the boat, which left the beaches of Zavara in northern Libya and sank off the coast of Sfax.
A Tunisian security official told Reuters that the Coast Guard had found the body.
The survivors are between 18 and 40 years old and come from a variety of nationalities, including people from Bangladesh, Egypt, Morocco and Cameroon, Sfax court spokesman Murad Turki said.
He added that the initial number of missing is conditional and could increase.
IOM spokeswoman Esma Rihane said the Tunisian fleet was still searching for the area for the missing.
The boat reportedly left Zuwara for northern Libya on Sunday night.
He is stranded six miles off the island of Kerkena off the coast of Tunisia, according to the Sfax National Guard.
Zuwara serves as a starting point for Libyan migrants trying to reach the Italian coast by sea.
The central Mediterranean, connecting Libya with Italy or Malta, is the most dangerous migration route in the world, IOM said.
Last July, 43 migrants disappeared after a boat carrying 127 people from Zuwara sank near Zarzis, a port in southern Tunisia.
The UN agency estimates that more than 1,500 people have died or disappeared in the region in 2021 and more than 500 so far in 2022.
Dozens of people have drowned off the Tunisian coast in recent months.
In recent years, hundreds of thousands of people have crossed the dangerous Mediterranean.
Data from the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) show that more than 123,000 migrants arrived in Italy in 2021, compared to more than 95,000 in 2020.
