Authorities in Ottawa that will be in power will open on Wednesday, but many schools remain closed.
Here is a look at the announcements of each school board for school services on Wednesday, May 25.
OTTOVA-CARLETON DISTRICT SCHOOL CURRENT
The Ottawa-Carlton School Board says electricity schools will open on Wednesday.
However, there will be no school bus service and the OC Transpo service is also limited. The council says that if your child attends school, make sure you have safe return and pick-up arrangements.

In addition, the Family Reception Center, McSkimming and Bill Mason outdoor education centers will be closed. All OCDSB community and school use permits are revoked for this week.
There will be no extended day programs on Wednesday in those schools that are closed. OCDSB’s extended day programs will be available in schools that are open.
Students in closed schools that have power at home can check out Google Classroom and the virtual learning environment for asynchronous learning opportunities. Please note that this may not be available in all cases, as there are many employees without power.
The storm-damaged Castor Valley Primary School will move to asynchronous distance learning on Wednesday, with synchronous learning expected on Thursday. More detailed information will be provided by the school.
OTTAVA CATHOLIC SCHOOL SET
The Catholic School Board in Ottawa says all schools with electricity will open on Wednesday.
The OCSB says the schools in power will try to offer the most normal school day possible.
However, the Ottawa Student Transportation Authority canceled all bus services to all Ottawa schools on Wednesday, the board said.
Twenty OCSB schools and the Catholic Education Center are without electricity and will be closed on Wednesday. There will be no distance learning.

“The two OCSB virtual schools will not be open tomorrow. As students come from all over the city to attend virtual schools, it would be problematic to offer classes when not all students can participate in the training. If power outages continue, we will develop a plan to ensure continuity of education, “said Education Director Tom D’Amico in a letter to families.
St. Monica School, which was severely damaged, is closed for personal training at least until the end of the week, the board said.
“Although there was significant damage to the building, it was isolated mainly next to the high school area,” D’Amico said. “A restoration company is on site and has sealed the building to mitigate any additional damage. We will keep parents informed of our progress. “

However, the school board says that although most schools will be able to reopen, the Ottawa School Transport Consortium (CTSO) has informed the school board that transport may still be affected by the closure of some roads. CTSO will have updates on its website.
