Sky Ferreira shares the first single in three years, “Don’t Forget”.

Sky Ferreira’s long-awaited second album masochism has not yet arrived, but the alto-pop singer gives fans a taste of what’s coming with “Don’t Forget”, her first single from 2019 with frequent contributor Jorge Elbrecht, feels lighter and louder than the previous single “Downhill Lullaby”, but the edge of Ferreira has not disappeared, as she sings about her desire to take revenge on those who offended her.

In the chat with vultureFerreira talks about the song, explaining: “It shouldn’t have been apocalyptic, but in a way it is. I really saw fire and I also saw a place between heaven and hell, such an atmosphere. But not in a biblical sense. I’ve felt very suffocated for a long time and I’m still doing it. ”

She added: “Not that I wanted to burn people’s houses on fire or anything like that; it’s a little more symbolic. It’s about being put in these situations for a long time. It’s a bit of a release, but not in the most conventional way. Because I don’t feel free, necessarily. I’m still not trying to throw everyone under the bus. Because that’s the thing: How do I tell what I’ve been through without having to fall victim to it or turn it into a story? Then my whole record becomes that. It’s like, “You can’t do this to me.”
