Returning coach Steve McLaren has already told Manchester United how he plans to revive Marcus Rashford next season. Rashford endured a difficult campaign at Old Trafford after returning from a heart attack and shoulder surgery in the summer of Euro 2020.
After recovering from his operation, Rashford actually started brightly with three goals in four games at the beginning of the season. However, only two more strikes followed in 28 additional appearances.
His attitude on the pitch and body language were questioned – although he was not alone – while Ralph Rangnik often preferred Anthony Elanga towards the end of the campaign, despite injuries and other absences when it came to choosing options in attacking quarters.

Rashford is considering his future at Old Trafford amid reported interest from Barcelona and others. However, as McLaren returns to the club as an assistant to Eric ten Haag – with Mitchell van der Haag the other – he has a clear plan on how to get United forward in their best form.
Speaking to Rashford to Sky Sports in January, McLaren said: “Body language is so important and it has been criticized by United players for the last few weeks, but [Marcus] Rashford probably had that [concern] throughout his career in questioning his attitude.
“He restrains himself too easily and does not fight in bad moments. He does not stay in the game. If he doesn’t have a good first half, he will never have a good second half. Someone has to give him the tools to get out of bad times, because he doesn’t know how to stay in it. “
