They did so in Scarborough on Thursday.
How can a difference be made if they are faced with the dilemma of trying to disarm someone carrying a rifle on the street?
If the police tell someone with a gun to release it immediately and he doesn’t, it doesn’t matter later if that gun is loaded or what its capacity is. In this tragic case in which a 27-year-old man was shot and killed by Toronto police, it has now been established that the rifle was in fact a pellet gun.

SIU makes a deep dive into its origins. Sources claim that a man, who identified himself as the father of the deceased shooter, contacted the police, saying that his son had been shot. He told police his son had mental health problems. SIU did not disclose the man’s identity, saying it would be with the consent of the family, which they did not give.

SIU needs to determine what prompted him to head to the street near the schools with a pellet gun, as well as his destination and intentions.
Whatever is learned, the police are in trouble when confronted with such a person.
“One cannot understand unless you look down the barrel,” said one officer, trying to determine if the weapon was a pellet gun. “There is no winner in such a case.”
The man with the pellet gun often dies. Officers face questions and a quarterback on Monday morning.
Witnesses told the media that they heard the man told to drop his gun before police used their firearms.
They were doing their job.
In a tweet, Toronto Police Association President John Reed said the organization “will support them in the ongoing investigations and with the resources they may need.”

The SIU’s mandate is to investigate this to make sure that those involved have done everything according to the rules and within the law. This process must happen, but people must remember that these employees were faced with this danger and passed the information on to them. They did not have the luxury of knowing anything determined after the fact.
In a statement Friday, the TPA said it was “important to remember that incidents of the use of force involve human beings and that our members are affected during and after each one.” They are often faced with decisions for fractions of a second that no one would ever want to take, and we will continue to provide our members with the resources and support they may need if they are ever in that position. “
The facts show that the man did have a gun capable of firing, and the police took action to neutralize any potential threat.
