A man died after a fire in a residential building in Toronto on Saturday morning.
Around 8:10 a.m., fire crews responded to a fire in an apartment on the eighth floor of a Victoria Park Avenue building near O’Connor Drive.
The crews said they were greeted with heavy smoke and had to enter the unit.
One patient was removed from the ward and pronounced dead, according to Toronto Fire.
Their identities have not been revealed.
Authorities said the fire was quickly put out.
The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate.
