Superheroes are not the only ones influencing the box office.

According to Deadline, “Top Gun: Maverick” earned $ 150 million in four days – the best debut for Tom Cruise’s main film.

Comscore said that on Remembrance Day weekend, the sequel to “Top Gun” now takes the place of the highest-grossing film over the holiday weekend. He defeated “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” in 2007, earning $ 139.8 million.

The release of “Top Gun: Maverick”, which was postponed for two years due to the coronavirus, is expected to bring back diversity to the box office. In previous years, theaters were dominated by superhero fanfare over Remembrance Day.

The star of the film, Tom Cruise, is expected to have the biggest opening of his career with revenues of at least $ 92 million in four days of official follow-up. Cruz’s 2005 War of the Worlds holds the spot for its best start in the domestic market with a three-day gross of $ 64.9 million.

Cruz’s second best film debut was “Mission Impossible – Fallout”, released in 2018. According to Comscore, the film reached 61.2 million dollars. All of the star’s other films started at less than $ 60 million.

He arrived by helicopter for the premiere in San Diego. The helicopter of the 59-year-old movie star landed on the retired aircraft carrier USS Midway in San Diego. The helicopter was decorated with the name of Cruz and the logo of “Top Gun: Maverick”.
