Manchester United have to make an important decision with their goalkeeping situation, and Daniel Bachmann is connected with this move.
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have a key decision regarding their second goalkeeper, with Daniel Bachman from Watford linked to the last player. The Red Devils are evaluating a number of scenarios to solve the problem, and Carl Darlow and Tom Heaton are other options that are being considered to replace Dean Henderson.
Dean Henderson endured a terrible campaign as the second goalkeeper of Manchester United. David De Gea’s rejuvenated form and the club’s inability to progress in domestic cup tournaments meant that the England star could only play three times for the seniors.
Henderson has been disappointed with the lack of playing time, as De Gea is likely to be the club’s undisputed number one next season and is considering leaving Manchester United in the summer, with Newcastle United showing great interest. The Magpies are confident that they will reach an agreement with Manchester United for their graduate of the academy.
Manchester United want 40 million pounds for Henderson and although Newcastle can agree on a deal, they are trying to reduce the asking price. The Magpies offered Carl Darlow in return to sweeten the approach and give the Red Devils an experienced replacement.

Manchester United are considering signing Darlow, although they have two more options to evaluate before making a specific decision. Manchester United can sanction Henderson’s departure only after finding a new number 2.
The easiest option for them is to nominate Tom Heaton as De Gea’s replacement for next season. He is experienced and will readily step up if necessary. The next idea is to sign someone younger than Heaton and Darlow, which leads to a relationship with Daniel Bachmann.
The Watford man could consider sticking with the Hertfordshire club despite their relegation and establish himself as their new No. 1. While joining Manchester United would again mean he will replace the head goalkeeper, something he did last season.
Bachmann played 12 times in the Premier League in the 2021/22 season, conceding 28 goals. And while signing with Manchester United would be a chance to climb a big club, at 27 he would like to play regularly.
As Henderson seems determined to secure his departure, Manchester United will decide on their backup for De Gea. And Bachmann is one of the options the Red Devils are considering, with Darlow and Heaton also being considered. It remains to be seen which way the Red Devils will decide to go in the summer.
