The 59-year-old man died in a quarrel in Hartlepool – two arrested

A 50-year-old man has died after being implicated in an alleged brawl in Hartlepool on Friday (May 27th) – in which two people were arrested in connection with the incident.

Police were called to the scene of a brawl near York Road / Gainford Street in the city around 2:10 p.m.

Ambulance crews from the Northeast ambulance were also present at the incident and provided medical assistance to a 59-year-old man on the spot, but he was found dead on the spot.

Investigations into the alleged brawl in Hartlepool are ongoing, with police confirming that a man and a woman, both in their 40s, were arrested in connection with the incident.

The man was released on bail while the investigation continued and the woman was released for investigation while the investigation continued.

A Cleveland police spokesman said: “The man’s family is backed by specially trained staff and our thoughts remain with them at this very difficult time.

Officers also called on all witnesses or anyone who may have footage of a collision with passengers in two vehicles – a black Vauxhall Mokka and a silver Hyundai Ioniq – to contact them at 101, citing incident number 090023.
