Toronto-related Punjabi rapper killed in India: reports

A Punjabi rapper with ties to Toronto has been killed in India, according to numerous reports.

Local media reported that Sidhu Mus Wala was shot to death in the state of Punjab on Sunday.

No suspicious information confirmed.

The 28-year-old attended Humber College as an international student and recorded many of his music videos in Toronto.

The singer ran for congress in Punjab earlier this year, but was defeated.

His assassination comes a day after security was withdrawn by police after the government voted to remove the security cover for Punjab politicians to disrupt VIP culture, according to reports.

Community activist and Pujabi spokesman for Toronto Raptors Parminder Singh said Wala’s death was a tragic loss for the Punjab community.

“It’s really shocking and I feel that the whole community has this feeling and we all have this feeling of shock when we heard about this news early this morning,” he told CP24.

The singer was due out in Mississauga in late July.

This is breaking news.
