The Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service is dealing with a fire at a Pear Tree Road store in Normanton. The road was closed for several hours and people were advised to avoid the area.
Derbyshire police were also on the scene to help keep people safe, while firefighters advised everyone living nearby to keep their windows and doors closed to prevent toxic fumes from entering their properties.
According to firefighters, the priority is to protect everyone and prevent the fire from spreading to other properties in the area. In a tweet sent at 10.28pm on Sunday night, firefighters said: “Pear Tree Road will remain closed for some time. Please avoid the area. Locals are advised to keep windows and doors closed. No further information.”
