Shocking new footage shows a Russian soldier dropping a Ukrainian drone before being blown up by enemy ammunition.
In a 90-second video released Sunday, a drone approached a group of Russian soldiers standing around a vehicle. About 17 seconds after the footage, one of the six Russian soldiers turned his head to the sky and greeted the drone with one finger.
As the camera came out, the drone fired a grenade at the BTR-82A, an 8 × 8 wheeled armored personnel carrier, causing it to explode into flames.
It is unclear exactly when and where the footage was taken, although Ukraine Weapons Tracker’s Twitter account says it happened in eastern Ukraine, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said was “indescribably difficult” to defend on Saturday.
The footage was shared a day after Russia reached the dark stage of losing 30,000 troops in the country’s war with Ukraine, which began in late February.

Amid strong Ukrainian resistance, Russia has also lost 207 planes, 174 helicopters, 1,330 tanks, 628 artillery and more than 3,000 armored vehicles, Ukrainian officials said earlier.
Despite halted military efforts, Zelensky said the Kremlin on Sunday was not “serious” about talks to end it, saying Russian leader Vladimir Putin was living in an “alternative reality”.
