Young people facing disability charges: London police

A 16-year-old from London, Ont. faces multiple charges of driving with a disability after a car crash in the southern part of the city early Saturday morning, police said.

The London Police Service (LPS) said that on May 28 at around 2:30 am officers responded to the intersection of Commissioner Road West and Wonderland Road South after a citizen reported a single collision of a vehicle.

Witnesses saw the driver of the car flee the scene on foot before police arrived.

A description of the driver was provided, and with the assistance of the cynological department of the PPE, the police searched the area. A young man allegedly involved in the crash has been found and arrested in the area of ​​Westmorland Road and Eaton Park Drive, police said.

No casualties were reported.

As a result of the investigation, a 16-year-old man, whose name could not be named under the Juvenile Criminal Justice Act, was charged with the following crimes:

  • Vehicle malfunction
  • The injured exceed the concentration of alcohol in the blood
  • Failed to report an accident
  • Concentration of alcohol in the blood of a novice driver above zero

The accused is due to appear in court in London on July 4 in connection with the charges.
