If you’re looking for a running watch or triathlon that can do everything at a reasonable price, Garmin will release its new Forerunner 955 Solar and Forerunner 255 Music this June. The Forerunner series is ideal for those who love the outdoors and want a watch that can last their weekend away from the city.

Here’s a first look at the two new watches.
Garmin 955 Solar
The Forerunner 955 Solar is designed for those who spend a lot of time outdoors. The watch builds on the success of the 945 series by adding a solar charging feature that significantly extends battery life; an hour of running in bright sunlight can add 10 to 15 percent to the charge.

Other notable features include an easy-to-navigate touchscreen interface, multi-band GPS, and new training features such as workout readiness (which tells you how much you’ve recovered before your next session), endurance and power insights (watts).
The new touch screen allows you to quickly slide through data and statistics screens, which can also be used in the traditional way with the same five buttons from 945. Garmin retains the weight of 955 by 53 grams, which is impressive with the increase in onboard memory with the new model (32 GB); double the memory you get on the Fenix 7.

There is an improvement in the battery life of the new watch – 15 days in smart watch mode, 42 hours in GPS mode and 80 hours in UltraTrac mode and uses the same pin / cable for charging as previous models.
The launch date of the Forerunner 955 is expected to be in early June, starting at $ 780 (excluding solar power). The Forerunner 955 Solar will start at $ 900.
The new Forerunner series does not offer LTE connectivity, but LTE connectivity will still be available for the 945 models, and many of the 955’s features will soon be available through Garmin Connect software updates.
Garmin 255 music
The all-new Forerunner 255 has everything that users enjoy in the 245 Series, plus additional features to appeal to triathletes (such as the ability to switch between sports), optional multi-band GPS, Garmin Pay, barometer and sleep recovery .

255 and 255 Music are available in many sizes and exciting new colors. Both the music and non-music versions offer up to 14 days of battery life in smart watch mode and 30 hours in GPS mode. The Forerunner 255 Music will give you up to 6.5 hours of GPS while listening to your favorite Spotify playlists.
The new morning report feature shows the athlete a perspective for the day: including time, your personalized daily workout suggested and insights into your previous night’s sleep, recovery time, workout and HRV status (variation in time between heartbeats).
