Paul Clement explains the “special” moment at Goodison Park and outlines Everton’s summer plans
Everton first-team coach Paul Clement hailed Everton fans and said he had “never seen anything like it” in what he did during his relegation clash.
Clement has a decorated coaching career, helping former Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Bayern Munich. He also led Derby County, Swansea City, Reading, Circle Brugge before arriving at Goodison Park as part of Frank Lampard’s coaching staff in January.
But for Clement, despite his vast experience in football, he believes that the support that Everton fans give to the team is unsurpassed. “I’ve never seen anything like it,” he told talkSPORT. “I think they started about four home games [the pre-match welcome of players] and there were great scenes on the streets around Goodison Park in preparation for this game. “
