Jada Pinkett Smith first addressed in detail the slap of Will Smith-Chris Rock Oscars in the June 1 episode of her Facebook series “Red Table Talk”. Earlier, the actor commented on the situation with the kind assistance of a meme, which read: “This is a season for healing. And I’m here for that. “
Pinkett Smith decided to deal with the slap in the face of Red Table Talk because the episode dealt with alopecia. Smith hit Rock on the Oscars stage because he was joking about Pinkett Smith’s bald head, which she shaved because of her own battle with alopecia.
“This is a really important ‘red table talk’ about alopecia. “Given what I went through with my own health and what happened at the Oscars, thousands turned to me with their stories,” Pinkett Smith said at the beginning of the episode. “I use this moment to enable our family with alopecia to talk about what it is like to have this condition and to inform people what alopecia is.
“Now about the Oscars night, my deepest hope is for these two intelligent, capable men to be able to heal, talk about it, and reconcile,” Pinkett Smith added. “The state of the world today, we need both. And we all really need each other more than ever. Until then, Will and I continue to do what we’ve been doing for the last 28 years, and that’s to come up with this thing called living together. Thank you for listening. ”
The academy removed Smith from its membership for 10 years for his Oscar-winning violence. The rock has not yet commented in detail on the slap, except to joke briefly about it on his current stand-up tour. Will Smith resigned from the Academy before the suspension was announced.
Pinkett Smith is annoyed before the new season of “Red Table Talk”, which launched on Facebook, that he will eventually turn to the slap, saying: “Given everything that has happened in the last few weeks, the Smith family is focused on deep healing. Some of the discoveries surrounding our healing will be shared at the table when the time calls. ”
The latest episode of Red Table Talk is already airing on Facebook.
