Const. Tanya Visintin confirmed that Vancouver police were called shortly before 6:30 a.m. Wednesday for a knife stabbing that took place in Esso on Hastings and Skeena streets.
Visintin said one man was taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and another was arrested and remains in custody.
A video of the incident was reportedly posted on Reddit before it was later removed, although a copy of the video circulated on Twitter, re-shared by Daily Hive writer Amir Ali.
The video shows a man carrying what looks like a machete or a sword as he walks between gas stations at Esso station. Shouts are heard in the background before showing the man coming down to the ground as three police officers approach.
At least two other people can be seen lying on the ground, assisted by passers-by and appear to be injured, although it is not clear in the video how the persons were injured or to what extent.
More details are expected from police later in the day.
