Woodcroft said he still supports regular starter Mike Smith after conceding six goals in 25 shots in an 8-6 loss to Colorado Avelanche in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday. Smith was replaced by Miko Koskinen in the middle of the match.

“I thought Mike Smith was great for all of our playoffs. “We will determine Mike’s status and Miko’s status tomorrow,” Woodcroft said Wednesday.

The 40-year-old Smith is 8-2-1 with an average of 3.12 goals, 0.917 assists and two disqualifications in 13 playoff games. He appeared in 28 games of the regular season, posting a 16-9-2 record with 2.81 GAA and .915 SV.

The 33-year-old Koskinen posted a 27-12-4 record with 3.10 GAA and a .903 save percentage in 45 games during the regular season with the Oilers. The Finnish-born is taking part in three playoff matches this spring.

Game 2 will be played on Thursday night in Denver.
