The great-grandson of Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Louis, stole the show during the first day of the Queen’s platinum anniversary, apparently screaming from the balcony as fighters flew over Buckingham Palace.
Four days of festivities began on Thursday in honor of the Queen’s 70-year reign, beginning with Trooping the Color, the UK Army’s annual review.
Prince William, Kate and their three children, Prince Louis, 4, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince George, 8, joined the Queen on the balcony of Buckingham Palace as warplanes roared over them. During the spring, the young Prince Louis was seen chatting with his great-grandmother several times.

At one point, however, it turned out that the prince had enough of the noise flying overhead. She could see him clutching his ears and screaming as if to his mother’s delight.

The appearance of Prince Louis only on the balcony won the hearts of royal observers on social media, many sharing images of the screaming child and other interactions with the queen.
“I absolutely like this picture of the Queen talking to Prince Louis while Catherine and William are smiling,” the tweet read.
“Prince Louis is in the mood for the queen when planes pass by,” said another.
The anniversary is celebrated with a four-day holiday weekend.
The celebration includes a Thanksgiving service on Friday at St Paul’s Cathedral in London, a concert at Buckingham Palace on Saturday and a competition organized by thousands of performers from schools and community groups across the country on Sunday afternoon.
