Twitter offers goodbye to the TweetDeck app for Mac users next month

Twitter has announced that the TweetDeck app for Mac will stop running on July 1. The microblogging platform has confirmed that it has made this decision to focus on improving the newer version of TweetDeck. “July 1 is the last day it will be available,” Twitter said in a tweet this week.

Twitter is already talking about the new preview version of TweetDeck, and the platform will launch more invitations for people over the next few months to try out the upcoming version. In the meantime, TweetDeck will be available through a web browser.

Twitter also announced the news to users of the TweetDeck Mac app via a banner announcement on Wednesday. The platform had shut down TweetDeck for both mobile and Windows computers many years ago, so it was clear that the Mac version would be phased out to introduce the all-new TweetDeck that Twitter has been advertising for some time.

TweetDeck is essentially used to monitor multiple feeds on the home screen to get real-time information from a variety of sources and platforms. The new product is still in the testing phase, so we are not sure about its official release to the public.

It is also worth noting that Twitter is struggling with an offer to buy from Elon Musk, which seems to have been delayed due to various problems. Musk claims to have arranged the funds to buy the platform, and Twitter’s board of directors seems to agree with the inevitable conclusion.

So now everyone can guess whether Twitter will fulfill these product commitments if and when the deal is done. The platform is also working on the long-awaited edit button, which should be released before the end of this year.
