Philadelphia Phyllis have fired manager Joe Girardi after the start 22-29 of the 2022 MLB season.

Philadelphia has lost seven of its last nine games and is 12 games behind the first New York Mets in the NL East. Phyllis bench coach Rob Thomson has been appointed interim manager for the rest of the season.

“It’s been a disappointing season for us so far, as we feel our club hasn’t played to its full potential,” said Phillies President. Dave Dombrowski said in a statement. “While we all share the responsibility for our shortcomings, I felt that change was needed and that a new voice in the club would give us the best chance to turn things around.”

The shoots have a fourth the highest salary in major league baseball of over $ 233 million.

“I believe we have a talented group that can get back on track, and I am confident that Rob, with his experience and knowledge of our club, is the right person to lead us forward,” the statement continued.

The Philistines never succeeded in the postseason with Girardi as manager, scoring 132-141 in his three seasons at the helm.

Girardi appeared on MLB Network Radio on Friday and discussed the reasons Phyllis struggled to start the season.

“I think there are a number of reasons not to win,” Girardi said he said in a statement on Friday radio. “We gave too many extra outs, which probably cost us four or five games, maybe. Maybe even more. I think sometimes our bullpen struggled. We had some guys who I think have much better things than the potential they’re facing.

“And I think some of the boys started out slowly in insult,” he continued. “And that’s what happens, isn’t it?” I think sometimes you can overcome one thing, maybe even two, but sometimes when it’s more than that, I think it’s a little difficult.

Philadelphia’s last three losses came in further innings, dooming Girardi’s time as Phyllis’ manager.
