Thunderstorms, torrential rains and lightning could hit Devon and Cornwall on Saturday. The Meteorological Service has issued a yellow weather warning covering the entire region.
The warning lasts from midnight to 10 am on Saturday. This would mean a wet start to the jubilee celebrations throughout the region.
The meteorological service says that while many places will remain dry, there may be thunderstorms. Where they hit, they will bring heavy rain and lightning in some places early on Saturday.

A spokesman added: “There is little chance that homes and businesses will be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floods, lightning, hail or strong winds. When floods or lightning strikes occur, there are likely to be delays and some cancellations of train and bus services.
“Splashes and flash floods can lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures. Power outages and other services for some homes and businesses are unlikely to be lost. “
A yellow weather warning has been issued
They added: “Saturday will be quite cloudy with precipitation or possibly longer periods of rain at times. Sometimes the rains are heavy with thunder, especially in the beginning. Maybe it will get drier and brighter by evening.
“It will be mostly cloudy with outbursts of rain or rain on Sunday and Monday. Sunny periods and intermittent rains on Tuesday and a feeling of pleasant sun. ”
