Costa Coffee has raised its prices for the second time in six months, leaving its customers furious as the cost of living crisis continues.

Fans of the coffee giant turned to Twitter to complain that their whiteness had risen overnight from £ 2.95 to £ 3.30, according to The Sun.

Others claim that their medium skinny lattes have risen from £ 3.10 to £ 3.35 and small cappuccinos from £ 3.15 to £ 3.50.

Another tweeted: “Yesterday I was charged £ 2.40 for my normal drink, a big skinny cappuccino. Today I was charged £ 2.70, a 30p increase overnight !! Any reasons for this ridiculous price increase ??! ”

A third said: “Coffee has almost jumped from £ 2.80 to £ 2.95 almost every day for the last two and a half years. I will use my Waitrose loyalty card for FREE coffee. ”

A fourth commented: “Well, I will reduce Costa. £ 3.15 for flat white now without prior notice of increase. No. Sorry, £ 2.90 made it.

Costa says the average increase is 14 pence. It had already raised prices late last year as a blow to loyal customers.

The beverage chain confirmed that it announced prices on June 1 and said the increase varies depending on what drink you order. Prices also vary between branches in the country.

Costa told The Mirror that the rise in prices was due to “unprecedented inflationary pressures leading to increased costs” for his business.

This comes after inflation in the UK rose to 9% in April – with experts predicting it will reach 10% later this year.

A Costa Coffee spokesman said: “Like all retailers, Costa Coffee is facing unprecedented inflationary pressures leading to higher costs.

“We know that this is a challenge for our customers, so we bear the costs where we can. However, we had to make the difficult decision to increase the prices of our drinks.
