The Queen’s platinum anniversary is being celebrated this weekend, marking the 70th anniversary of the British monarch on the throne.
As part of the weekend’s festivities, the BBC is hosting a Platinum Party At The Palace concert, which will feature a number of high-ranking musicians and bands.

Twenty-two thousand people will attend the event, including 10,000 members of the public who won tickets in the public vote, which ended on March 23. More than 7,500 tickets were earmarked for key workers, members of the armed forces, volunteers and charities.

When and where is the platinum party in the palace?
The platinum party at the palace will be held at the Queen’s House in London, Buckingham Palace, at 7.30 pm on Saturday, June 4.

According to the official Jubilee website, the design of the Platinum Party consists of three stages related to trails, “which create a 360-degree experience in front of Buckingham Palace and the Queen Victoria Memorial.” There will also be 70 illuminated columns, each representing a year of the queen’s reign.

For those who failed to get tickets in the limited voting, the concert is broadcast live on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and BBC Radio 2.

The event will be opened by Queen, with guitarist Brian May saying: “Twenty years after we played Queen’s famous Golden Jubilee, we are very happy to be invited again.
“Then there was a moment when I was wondering … after the roof of Buckingham Palace, where can you go?” Well … you’ll see! ”

The show will close with Diana Ross with her first live performance in the UK in 15 years. Ross said in a statement: “I have had the honor of meeting the Queen many times in my life, including when I was with my family. Her Majesty has and continues to be such an incredible inspiration to so many people around the world, and I was absolutely happy to receive an invitation to perform on such an important and historic occasion. ”
Sir David Attenborough, Emma Raducanu, David Beckham, Stephen Fry, Lady Julie Andrews, the Royal Ballet and Paralympic swimmer Eli Simmonds will take part.
Alicia Keys, Niall Rodgers and Andrea Bocelli will perform alongside Duran Duran, composer Hans Zimmer, Ella Eyre, Craig David, Mabel and Elbow, as well as UK Eurovision contestant Sam Ryder.
