Russia is introducing five large landing ships in the Black Sea

A flotilla of five large landing ships assembled from the three fleets of the Russian Navy left for the Black Sea.

Details: Four large landing ships have docked in the South Bay, the largest branch of the Sevastopol Bay, near the pier Mina Stinka.

The two ships in the foreground are landing craft from Project 1171 Tapir. The Black Sea Fleet had three such ships, one of which, Saratov, was destroyed by a Ukrainian missile in the port of Berdyansk. The other two are Orsk and Nikolai Filchenkov.

There are also two large landing ships under project 775 at the port of Mina Stinka. The Black Sea Fleet has four such ships: “Caesar Kunikov”, “Novocherkassk”, “Yamal” and “Azov”.

Novocherkassk and Azov are currently under repair at the 13th Kilen-Bay Shipyard.

Background: According to the Pivden Operational Command (South), there are now 3 missile ships and 1 submarine in the Black Sea, in addition to the 5 large landing ships.

Russia has launched two-thirds of its submarines into the sea, each carrying missiles.
