Americans are “confused” why Megan Markle is “so against” the monarchy: Expert
Megan Markle is losing respect in the United States, just as in the United Kingdom, says an American expert.
Niall Gardiner, a Washington-based foreign policy expert, told Express.co.uk: “Megan’s image is falling sharply in the United States as well as in the United Kingdom.
“Many in the United States see her as a person who is constantly trying to undermine the royal family – and the royal family is extremely popular here.
“Many Americans are puzzled as to why she is still the Duchess of Sussex when she speaks so much against the monarchy.
“There is no good reason for her to still hold the royal title.
From a political point of view, Mr Gardiner added: “American conservatives have a negative view of Megan, who is considered very left-wing, while many American liberals admire her.
“Megan and Harry’s popularity in the United States has dropped significantly during the year and will continue to decline.
Megan and Harry left the United Kingdom after retiring as high kings in 2020. The couple now lives in Montecito, California, with their children Archie and Lilibet.
