Fortnite’s new season has a roller coaster ride, Darth Vader and Vibration

After months of brutal warfare – and a live event last night featuring a giant mechanic – Fortnite’s final season is surprisingly calm. In fact, season 3 of the third chapter of the game is simply called Vibin ‘. It brings with it some notable changes to the island, including new locations such as an amusement park – complemented by a roller coaster ride – and a forest that looks like a leotard called Reality Falls, which includes magic saplings that players can plant and grow for better prey.

Here’s a closer look at the western tip of Fortnite Island now:

In terms of gameplay, the season brings back fans’ favorite vehicle, the Baller (which looks a bit like a giant hamster ball). However, it has changed slightly: it has more health, can swim in water and has a battery that will eventually disappear. It also seems that you can take one on a roller coaster and have a good time. Players can now ride boars, and Season 3 introduces a feature called “stormy disease”. Here’s how the developer of Fortnite Epic describes it:

If you stay in the storm for too long cumulatively in a match, you will develop a storm disease, a disease that accelerates the breakdown of your health from the storm. But don’t worry: storm sickness is never a surprise – you’ll get a warning if you’re close. And fortunately, the cure for storm disease is just to get out of the storm. However, if you re-enter it, it will immediately affect you again.

And, of course, a new season means a new battle pass to buy, which in turn means more characters to unlock. This season’s highlight is Darth Vader (who would be a great partner in a duet for Obi-Wan), but there’s also a new toy-like figure called Snap that you can customize by unlocking new attachments. Later in the season, holders of combat passes can unlock Indiana Jones, who looks amazingly out of place next to the much more colorful cast of this season.

The new atmosphere filled with atmosphere follows Resistance, which is most notable with the introduction of the already permanent Zero Build mode in Fortnite – although players can still play the classic build and shoot mode if they wish.
