Prue Leith’s car collapses when Dames in Jags joins Jubilee Pageant

The Bake Off star’s movement encountered bumps in the road when her Jaguar needed a push from volunteers to reach The Mall, but she waved excitedly to the crowds despite slow progress.

About 10,000 people, including a team of 6,000 performers, took part in the 3-kilometer carnival procession from the Horse Guards Parade past Whitehall to the Arch of the Admiralty and down The Mall to Buckingham Palace.

Nearly 200 stars will take to the stage later to perform a serenade of the queen, singing the national anthem at the grand finale of the platinum anniversary celebrations.

Celebrities, including Sir David Jason, Harry Redknapp, Sir Cliff Richard, Sandy Shaw, Felicity Kendall, Joe Weeks and Holly Willoughby, will join Ed Sheeran in the mass performance of God Save the Queen Outside Buckingham Palace at the end of the competition.
