So far, some of PS State of Play 2022’s most exciting announcements have included the Resident Evil franchise. The first of them is something that has been talked about for some time – a remake of Resident Evil 4. Yes, that’s right, we will finally return to the world of this action game, applauded by critics.

Unfortunately, Capcom did not reveal much about the remake. We received a teaser trailer and it was released on March 24, 2023. They also confirmed that the game comes on Playstation 5 and PC, Xbox Series S and Series X. In addition, Capcom hinted at additional content for VR systems, but don’t say much more from this.

Speaking of VR, Capcom also announced on PS State of Play 2022 that fans may soon feel even more terrified. Resident Evil Village will make its way to the PlayStation VR2. If you have this virtual reality headset, get ready to start shaking again!

Capcom said it will be the full version of the survival horror game and will include new techniques. This includes exchanging weapons in your hands and physically lifting your arms to attack enemies. You will definitely be scared!

One of the other exciting revelations of PS State of Play 2022 includes the Horizon series. Guerrilla Games has announced that Horizon: Call of the Mountain will be released exclusively on PlayStation VR2. They even gave us a game trailer to see exactly what that experience would be like.

We also learned about some of the activities for the exclusive game. These include climbing and archery, which are sure to be great fun in VR. Along with Story Mode, there is also River Ride mode, which involves sailing down a river.

In addition, the company has officially unveiled a major update to Horizon: Forbidden West. This attracted special focus from the team and included a bunch of new activities. You can now try to play on more difficult difficulty settings and graphics settings. It may have been announced on PS State of Play 2022, but the update is available for play now!

Another of the long-awaited upcoming games is Final Fantasy 16. At PS State of Play 2022 we finally got a little more information! Square Enix was generous enough to give us a trailer for the game and an approximate release date – summer 2023.

So far, we know that many iconic characters from the series will return. These include Shiva, Odin, Phoenix, Tian and many more. Oh, and the main character Clive Rosfield, of course! From the trailer we can say that Eikons will have a big party to play in this game from the first side.

Our last, but certainly not least, big announcement of the PS State of Play 2022 game was Street Fighter 6. We knew the game was coming for a while, but Capcom confirmed that it will be out in 2023. They also revealed that you can play the game on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Series X and Series S.

In the game trailer we have an exclusive look at Capcom’s RE Engine. Previously, they used this engine to create Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 7. It differs significantly from previous video game engines due to better graphics. This allows for a much more immersive experience.

Fortunately, Capcom also told PS State of Play 2022 that the iconic characters Chun-Li, Ryu and Luke will be in this latest game. We also saw small shots of the newest member of the franchise, Jamie.

It is clear that PS State of Play 2022 was a full game conference, with many major revelations and updates to the game. We left a few others off this list, including the sequel to Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners and a remastered version of Spider-Man. What was your favorite? Tell us in the comments below!
