A boy who went missing in Lincoln County has been found

A 4-year-old boy who went missing in the Bull Lake area of Lincoln County has been found alive.

According to a report Sunday afternoon from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Ryker Webb was found alive and well. No other information was provided on how or where it was found.

Attempts to contact Sheriff Darren Short were not immediately successful.

The Web search began Friday night. He was last seen playing with the family dog in front of the home on Friday afternoon in the 18-mile marker area of Montana 56, south of Troy on the east side of Lake Bull.

A red code was sent to nearby residents on Friday, asking them to search their own properties and structures. A report of a missing person was also spread across the country.

Short said over the weekend that search and rescue teams from three states – Montana, Idaho and Washington – were searching for the child with K-9 units, boats, drones with infrared cameras, and two Helena National Guard helicopters.

SAR searches were also carried out by SAR teams, and searches of the route were carried out using ATVs and side vehicles.

“We walked a few miles in all directions, but the rugged terrain and bushes made it difficult,” Short said Saturday. “Two Bear Air and Life Flight helicopters would normally be searching last night with their infrared connection, but that was not possible due to bad weather on Friday night.

Thunderstorms, heavy rain and heavy fog are factors that limit air demand.

“I was surprised and grateful that the National Guard helicopters were able to come here to help,” Short said.

Search teams include Lincoln and Flathead County Sheriff’s Offices, Sandpoint, Idaho, Spokane Police Department, David Thompson Search and Rescue, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, Libby Volunteer Fire Department, Bull Lake Fire and Rescue search and rescue of the North Valley.

Short also thanked Halfway House Bar and Grill, Stillwater Christian Church and Rosauers Supermarkets for providing food and water for the dozens of searchers who worked to find the child.

“I really want to thank everyone who came to help,” Short said.
