A man and a woman left lying on the road by a crashed and escaped driver

A man and a woman remained lying on the road after being knocked down by a crashed and escaped driver.

Police were called to the scene of the Four Acre Drive crash in Litterland around 3pm on Monday afternoon, 6 June. Merseyside police said a man and a woman who were hit by a silver Ford Focus were involved in the accident.

They have minor injuries and do not need medical help, police said. The driver of the Ford Focus reportedly left the scene after the accident.

A police spokesman said: “At around 3pm this afternoon, officers were called in to signal a collision involving a man, a woman and a silver Ford Focus on Four Acre Drive in Litherland. Both the man and the woman received minor injuries that did not require medical treatment.

“It was reported that the driver of the silver Ford Focus left after the collision. Investigations are underway and detectives are urging anyone with information to come out. “
