Apple’s online store is closed before the WWDC main event

Apple’s online store collapsed ahead of the main event of the World Developers Conference, which is scheduled to begin at 10:00 Pacific time.

It’s been a few years since Apple released new WWDC hardware, but the fact that the store isn’t working suggests that we may see some new devices today. Apple routinely closes the online store during the hours leading up to special events where new products are expected.

This is the first time that Apple’s online store has shrunk before the 2017 WWDC, when several hardware upgrades were announced for the iPad Pro, MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and iMac. At WWDC 2017, Apple also saw a preview of the ‌iMac‌ Pro and the original HomePod, which launched only in December 2017 and February 2018, respectively.

Rumors suggest that Apple may introduce the new MacBook Air for 2022 at the WWDC, and the device is expected to include a redesigned chassis that is more like a MacBook without thinning, several new color options similar to iMac, white frames, white keyboard and probably a faster M2 chip.

MacRumors.com will offer news coverage and a live report on the WWDC’s main report. Twitter users can also follow @MacRumorsLive for live updates.
