The first trailer for Strange World shows a strange, beautiful science fiction universe

The first trailer for Strange World, the next Disney animated film, looks like a lively cover of a paperback novel.

It is as beautiful as it is strange, with sticky aliens, walking mountains and many other science fiction oddities. Disney describes it as a story that “travels deep into an unexplored and insidious land, where fantastic creatures await the legendary Clades, a family of explorers whose differences threaten to overthrow their last – and by far – most important mission.” It stars Jake Gyllenhaal and has some notable names leading it, including director Don Hall (The Great Hero 6, Paradise and the Last Dragon) and co-director and writer Qui Nguyen (Paradise).

The premiere of Strange World is scheduled for November 23, although it is currently unclear whether it will be in theaters or will debut at Disney Plus instead. In the meantime, if the trailer doesn’t give you enough pulp of sci-fi vibrations, check out the poster below.
