Apple unveils a completely redesigned MacBook Air

Apple has unveiled a new MacBook Air with a whole new redesign.

It has a more square design than the latest iPad, Mac and iPhone. And it includes the small “cut” at the top of the display that first came with the new MacBook Pro.

And there is what Apple says is a much improved display, camera, microphones and speakers.

All of this is powered by M2, Apple’s second-generation chips for its Mac. Both were unveiled – along with new updates for the iPhone and Apple Watch – during the Apple WWDC event.

Earlier, Apple released the MacBook Air with the previous generation of this chip, in late 2020. But took the same annual design of the previous Air, adding only these new chips.

The new update updates the MacBook Air with other Apple devices, both in exterior design and interior options.

Apple also said it would put the M2 in the existing, cheaper MacBook Pro. This computer did not receive a redesign, retaining the same old look, but added the M2.

The old MacBook Air will also remain in the range, Apple said, probably with the intention of selling it to education.
