With iOS 16 and watchOS 9, Apple makes it easier for users to track their medicines. Medicines, vitamins and supplements can be added to the Health app in iOS 16 for tracking purposes, and personalized reminders for taking medications can be set.
You can add your prescription drugs to the iPhone Health app through the new Medication category. You can search for your medicines and add them manually or scan them using the iPhone’s camera. If you are scanning a medicine, just give the application permission and then place your medicine in the camera frame.
Most of the time, iPhone can read the label and interpret what you are taking, although you may need to fine-tune your dose. From there, you can add the time you take it and how often you take it to get a reminder. You can create a custom schedule for each drug and give each one a unique visualization with a custom background.
If you have an Apple Watch, all your medicines are listed in the new medicine app, which makes it very easy to check them off when you take them. Tap a medicine in the app and then tap Taken or Missed to register it.
You can also mark medications as taken in the iPhone’s Health app, but it’s easier to do so on the Apple Watch. A medicinal product marked as accepted is included in the “Registered” section of the application.
In addition to tracking your medications and sending reminders to take them, the Health app can also detect potential drug interactions by notifying you if you are taking a dangerous combination. You can export your medicines in a PDF list and information about medicines can be shared with family members.
Medicines are just a new health feature on iPhone, and Apple is also introducing support for an activity app that can track your daily movement, even if you don’t have an Apple Watch.
