Fans excited to see Justin Bieber at a concert tonight will have to make other plans.
The pop superstar was due to perform at the Scotiabank Arena in downtown Toronto on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, but announced that these shows will now be postponed.
“I can’t believe I’m saying this,” Bieber’s Instagram post read around 2 p.m.
“I did everything I could to recover, but my illness is getting worse. My heart breaks that I will have to postpone these next few shows (prescribed by doctors).
It is not clear exactly how many shows have been postponed.
The entire Bieber’s Justice World Tour 2022 was twice postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Bieber’s name was popular on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon, and more than a few tweets appear to indicate that ticket fans are unhappy with last-minute news.
Scotiabank Arena posted a statement on Twitter about the couple canceled performances in Toronto and said existing tickets would be honored when rescheduled dates are announced.
Arena added that Bieber’s disease was not related to COVID-19.
