Live Updates – Birmingham Road Closed After Shot and Human Signals

The road in Birmingham was closed by cops after reports of gunshots and that a man was hit by a car, it became clear. Wheaton Road, Aston, was put behind cordon shortly after 6:30 a.m. today (Tuesday, June 7) after the morning drama.

Buses – including the National Express service number 7 – have been diverted while the operation continues.

An Inrix spokesman said: “Wheaton Road is closed in both directions due to a police incident from Broadway to Trinity Road. Deviation – affects route 7 of the NX bus. “

A West Midlands police spokesman said: “We are investigating after the shootings in Wheaton Road, Aston, around 6.30pm yesterday (June 6th). We received several reports of gunshots and that a man had been hit by a car. no employees arrived, no one was injured on the spot.

“We are trying to identify anyone who may have been injured to make sure they are safe. Detectives are reviewing video surveillance and conducting other investigations.”
