Apple’s Safari browser has a built-in password prompt for iOS and macOS, and iOS 16, iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura makes it more convenient than ever.
These platforms already have an option to edit a strong password offered by Apple, which allows it to be tailored to the specific requirements of the site. Websites sometimes have requirements for creating passwords that include special characters, do not allow special characters, require specific lengths, or require other customizations that do not meet the strong password requirements that can now be corrected with the edit option.
You can tap a suggested password and select the Other Options interface to access the Edit Strong Password interface. From here you can change the suggested characters. You can also select the “Easy to enter” or “No special characters” shortcut.
In macOS Monterey, iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 there are no options for suggested passwords, except to choose to use it or choose to create your own password, so this should make the built-in password feature more acceptable for Mac and iOS users.
