Risk of a thunderstorm in Alberta for the late afternoon and evening

From 19:00 a strong thunderstorm is in force for the city of Edmonton and the surrounding areas. However, the risk of bad weather seems very low.

On Wednesday evening between 19:00 and 20:00 on Wednesday evening between 19:00 and 20:00 rains and several thunder cells were pushed out of the city from SW to NE.

We also have lightning thunderstorms north of Edmonton that move away from the city as they head north-north-north-north-north-north-north-north-north-north-north-north-north-north-north-north-north north-north-north-north-north-north-north-north-northeast are moving away from the city and thunderstorms.

All storms must leave Edmonton and the surrounding area by 9 to 10 p.m.

There are no WARNINGS for strong thunderstorms.

However, there are severe thunderstorms issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada for much of central and northwestern Alberta.

This means that there is a potential for the development of severe thunderstorms in this region, with the main threats being rain, hail and potentially harmful gusts in the range of 70 to 90 km / h. As the evening approaches, this risk decreases.

It is important to remember that CLOCK means “potential”, while WARNING means that hard weather is coming or is about to move to the warned area.

This will be the last update of this story, unless the storms intensify. Thanks for watching this afternoon. I’ll have your next CTV News weather update at 11:30 PM and Corey Edel will start your Thursday with a beautiful CTV Morning Live forecast.
