Apple CEO Tim Cook believes that augmented reality is the future. We know this because in the last few years he has been talking about the potential of this new technology. However, he did not even mention it during the WWDC, despite numerous reports that suggest that Apple may use the event as a springboard for its upcoming headphones.
We didn’t expect hardware – which will arrive later this year or in 2023 – but some mention of the reality software hearing platform was on the table. After all, Apple needs to make a fuss to get developers to quickly build and move applications to the new environment. He did this successfully with his custom M1 chips, which he unveiled long before the ARBook MacBook arrived.
This does not mean that there were no subtle hints of what Apple is planning. New features for iOS, macOS or iPadOS are ripe for integration into AR platforms. Take, for example, additional 3D map views in Apple Maps or Live Text enhancements in iOS. It’s easy to see how they can be useful in metaAppleverse.
If you’re still curious about what Apple is up to, the latest rumors suggest that the AR headphones will be full of advanced technology and could cost up to $ 3,000.
