LOS ANGELIS –
Britney Spears’ ex-husband has ruined her wedding venue in Southern California, authorities say.
Ventura County Sheriff’s Captain Cameron Henderson said officers responded to a call for an intrusion after 2 p.m. on Thursday. He says pop singer Jason Alexander’s first husband was detained at the ceremony.
Henderson says Alexander was arrested after officers noticed he had an arrest warrant in another county.
Alexander entered his Instagram live as he approached the security of the event. In what looked like an almost empty but decorated room, he told them that Spears had invited him.
“She is my first wife, my only wife,” said Alexander, who was briefly married to Spears, his childhood friend, in 2014. Their marriage lasted only 55 hours.
“I am her first husband,” he continued in the video. “I’m here to break up the wedding.”
Spears was previously married to Kevin Federline, with whom she shares two sons, ages 14 and 15.
Spears and her fiancé Sam Asgari are reportedly expected to marry on Thursday. The couple announced their engagement nearly nine months ago after Asgari proposed marriage with a four-carat diamond ring.
The couple met on the set of the music video “Slumber Party” in 2016.
A Spears spokesman did not immediately request a comment.
Authorities are still investigating the reported violation.
